In accordance with the team's commitment to hiring trans team members, Megan Garbayo-López received mentorship from Julie Keck, a queer Chicago-based producer who has produced film, indie tv, and podcast projects for almost thirty years. Julie's been honored to contribute to the Oscar short-listed and Emmy nominated short documentary Chasing Time, the Emmy Award-winning Reciprocity Project films, and Seedcast, a podcast recognized by both the Webbys and the Indigenous Journalists Association. Julie directs the Center for Community Media at Governors State University, which sits on land stewarded by the Council of Three Fires (Chippewa, Ojibwe, and Potowatami) and many others.
